BUDGET/FINANCE COMMITTEE
SEPTEMBER 2, 1997 4:30 P.M.

The Committee reviewed the August claims and recommended that they
be paid.
Don distributed a cumulative overtime report for the period of
1/10/97 to 6/25/97.
Jim Stevens presented a purchase requisition for a lock system at
the FAP Complex. He said that this is something we have needed for
a long time.
Alan mentioned that he received an informal bid for a new recording
machine at the FAP in the amount of about $26,000. This will be
purchased with 9-1-1 money. Since the cost is over $20,000 this
will have to be formally advertised.
Discussion regarding a web page for the City of Laurel. The
Library is going on line and it was suggested that Alan contact Peg
at the Library and possibly set up a presentation for a pre-council
meeting.
Discussion regarding additional police reserve officers. This was
also discussed at the August 19, 1997 Budget/Finance Committee.
Purchase requisitions were approved as follows:

at the City Shop
Gas for police cars and animal control
First phase of internet connect project at
the Library (pd. for by Library grants)
