SPECIAL MEETING
The meeting was called to order at 7:15 P.M. by Chairman John Smith.
This being a special meeting only the matter for which it was called could be discussed.
Members present were:Bob Western , Dick Clayton , Roy Zahm , Bill Brennan
Guests present were;Craig Canfield(H.K_.M.),Frank Felke(Big Sky Aircraft),John Ostlund,
Bob Redding(Redding Aircraft Sales),Kent Potter(Norther Skies Aircraft) ,Rich McKamy.
Rick Sanford(D-0 Aviation).Linda Strong(Part Air),LeRoy Monson,$ Alan Karenvald.
Bob Redding presented a propossl for hangar area expansion.as follows.
Construct a single taxiway running N.W./S.E. east of and paralelling Staley St.
taxiway.This would allow construction of 2001 of hangar space ,601 deep,on both
sides of the taxiway Common wall hangars would be most cost effective as well as
the most efficient use of the area.The west row of hangars would face east and the
east row would face west thus minimizing wind effect.This area is nearly flat so
would require very little site preperation.If in the future runway 22/4 is moved
north as mandated by the F.A.A. up to 8 additional hangars could be constructed.
The taxiway should cost less than $20,000 to construct.We would like to prorate the
cost of the taxiway and asses the cost to the new hangar owners and deduct it from
thier lease.
A motion was made by Western that we instruct H.K.Y. to draw it up and obtain
approval from the F.A.A. (A.S.A.P.).Moti.on seconded by Brennan and carried.
Authority will contact Montana Aeronautic Div. concerning availability of grant
or loan.
