The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Chairman John Smith.
Members present were.; Bob Western , Roy Zahm , Bi11.Brennan
Guests present were ; Rich McKamy , Bob Redding , Frank Felke Bob Roods

Rich Mckamy apologized for inferring at a ,previous meeting that someone
was pocketing money from the Airport fund.
minutes of the'April 26 regular meeting and the May 5th Special meeting were
approved as read. ,

Moved by Zahm to approve bills,2nd by Western,motion carried.
Bob Western reported that he had'invited the Laurel Police Dept. and the
Yellowstone-County Sheriff's Depft. to attend our meeting to discuss Police
protection and security at the Airport.The Laurel P.D. did not attend but
Undersheriff Jerry Bell was present.It was explained that we have had at least
three reported cases of vandalism and numerous reports of gasoline thefts.We had
requested a security audit from the S.O. and have recieved recommendations
from deputy Kathy Carson concerning lighting , signs , and a possible alarm
system.Bell explained that the S.O. would do what they could but with only
one Deputy patrolling western Yellowstone County it was almost impossible for
to even occassionaly patrol the Airport.
Bob Western reported that he and other Airport users had discussed the policing pr
problem with the new Laurel City Attorney , Joe Leckie , and he recommended that
The Airport Authority formally request the 6ity Council provide Police services
to the Airport.He stated that the City may charge for the service.
Craig Canfield,H.K.M.,presented a new plan that would allow the construction of
approximately 10 new hangars justveast of the existing area.He has sent the proposed
plan to the F.A.A. for-approval.Estimated cost - under$20,000.He also explained
the Master Plan update.The Federal grant still hastnt been approved.
The Montana State Department of Lands has lowered'the lease price on our 15 acres
from $1,000 per year to $330 per year (formerly $100 per year).It was moved-by
Western and seconded by Zahm to approve payment for the lease.Motion passed.

Scott prindle wanted to know if he could lease land to build two;ten'unit hangars
for rental purposes:He stated that he would build the required taxiways himself.
He was advised to talk to H.K.M. as to location and feasibility.
Frank Felke asked the status of the rest of the proposed hangars already leased.
Yellowstone Valley Electrical Co-op wants to bill Felke , Miller , and Strongs for
the installation of the underground line construction costs and-Felke,Miller,and
Strongs would like to share the costs with the other potential users.Zahm.has
started construction but the status of Powers lease is unknown.The E.A.A. has
relinguished thier lease and Bob Roods would like to lease the site.Pending.
Dave Michaels is preparing an estimate on the cost of patching and/or sealing
runway 4/22.
Kent Potter's lease has been sent to Helena for approval.
