The meeting was called to order at 7:00.P.M. by Chairman John Smith.
Members present were Roy Zahm , Bob Western , Bob Spannagle , Bill Brennan
Guests present were ; Don Crilly , John Gstlund , Cal Cumin , Craig Canfield
Minutes of the August , 1996 meeting were approved as read.
Bills presented were ;
Ye11.Vall.Electric power for August 79.27
Northern Skies Av. fuel , rope , weed spray 70.59
Moved by Brennan , seconded by Zahm to approve the bills , motion passed.
We discussed a letter from Chuck Koehler offering to pay 674.00 for repair of
the gate he had damaged. Moved by Bob Spannagle , seconded by Roy Zahm to accept
his offer. Motion passed.
Craig Canfield of Interstate Engineering reported that Banks Land Services has
started appraisal.work on land we need to acquire for the Airport expansion.
The appraisals should be done in approximately six weeks and the appraisal review
another six weeks.The Airport Authority and F.A.A. will also have to approve the
appraisals.We will try to acquire all the area north of the Cove ditch in the affected
area.We also discussed acquiring avigation easements. Since these easements
usually cost about 90 1. of the cost of acquiring the property itself we will
investigate acquiring this land also.
Bob Western moved that we exclude Reiters equipment storage area from the land
acquistion ( approx. 3001 less on the east end ) seconded by Zahm . Passed.
We have had inquiries about hangar space but nothing definite yet.
We will need to purchase a new mower for next summer as the old one is about
shot.With the land acquisitions we need to find a larger tractor and mower in the
very near future. We will watch the Government surplus equipment lists but there
dont seem to be any available.
