HomeMy WebLinkAboutLaurel Airport Authority Minutes 10.22.1996LAUREL AIRPCRT AUTHORITY October 22 , 1996 Meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Chairman John Smith. Members present were ; Bill Brennan , Roy Zahm , Bob Spannagle Guests present were Don Crilly , Frank Felke , Kent Potter , Craig Canfield Minutes of the September meeting were approved as read. Bills presented were ; Northern Skies Aviation gasoline 20.09 87.77 Yellowstone Valley Elec. power for Sept. Moved by Brennan , seconded by Zahm to pay bi7ls.Motion passed. Craig Canfield Interstate Engineering , gave an update on project. Land appraisal is in progress. Design survey will srart next week. Bid opening for runway construction is scheduled for April 1997 to coincide with land acquisition. Project may be done in two stages , runway in 1997 , taxiways and ramp in 1998 depending on F.A.A. funding. The area north of the hail hangars will be available for hangar construction as soon as new runway is complete.Will affirm this with F.A.A. The F.A.A. has approved the Airport layout plan. We will have the electric outlet and meter removed at east end of Airport. Several aircraft owners are not paying the monthly ramp tiedown fee. We will have the City Attorney contact them. Potter and Felke , representing the Montana Pilots Assn. presented a proposal as follows . The Airport would purchase the Quonset Hut from northern Skies. The M.PA. would move it , set it up on a concrete foundation remodel it , paint it, install a septic or holding tank for a toilet , etc. The E.A.A. , C.A.P. , and the skydivers have expressed an interest in being involved. Bob Spannagle will work with the groups and report back to us. The Boy Scouts planted three trees and placed two picnic tables in the Airport park. We will find out who they were and thank them. We recieved 674.00 for the damaged gate. Meeting adjourned at 8:03 P.M. B Bre Secretary
