COUNCIL CHAMBERS
PRESENT: Bud Johnson Rick Musson

Discussion on Cherry Hill Subdivision, 2nd filing. Advertised bid
received on March 18th by Carl Rookhuizen was rejected by the City
Council on March 18, 1997. The City Attorney indicated that the
council may consider additional offers on the property, due to
their action on the advertised bid.
This property was involved in acquiring the housing block grant
which was approved early in the year. That means the City will
need to sell the property and contribute money to the housing
grant, which would be equal to the property value and in kind
service originally offered. Or, not sell the property, offer a
number of lots to the grant program and install water and sewer
lines throughout the subdivision. The general consensus of this
committee is the city should sell the property at an acceptable
value to meet the grant commitment and any excess added to the
purchase of cemetery property.
Mr. Rookhuizen indicated he is still interested in purchasing the
lots and he will submit another offer to the city on Thursday.
Bud Johnson made a motion, seconded by Jim Flisrand, that a packet
with all available information be prepared for the council by
Friday this week, including required amount of matching funds for
block grant housing program. Motion carried.
Jim's Excavating Service, Inc., bid for the demolition of garages
behind Fibervision were reviewed. The total bid to demolition and
remove debris of a six door garage building, a two door garage
building and a trailer house was $6810.00.
Motion by Bud Johnson, seconded by Jim Flisrand to accept Jim's
Excavating bid. Motion carried.
Discussion to include Larry McCann and Roy Williams to this
committee. The Mayor will contact both individuals.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:45 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Jim Flisrand
