A quorum (3 or more) present the following action was taken by
the committee:
Ernie was contacted by Pat Jurkovich of Red Lodge about using
our landfill. After some checking, permission was given to use
it for 30 days at $3.00 per yard of garbage. Joe Bradley is to
send a letter for the City Clerk's signature.
The committee gave Ernie approval to purchase an air cushion
seat for the new garbage truck. The cost is $365.00 with a one
year warranty and a 5-year workmanship warranty.
Ernie questioned the repair of the metal garbage cans we have in
use. The committee recommends looking into using the 300-gal.
cans and not fix the metal ones. It takes an hour or more to
change the arms and dump the cans and change the arms back.
Jim Redman informed the committee the batteries should be
replaced on the Bomag. Ernie will check on prices.
Meeting adjourned at 5:45 p.m.

Dear Ms. Jurkovich:
Albert Ehrlick, the Mayor.of Laurel, has requested that
I write this letter in confirmation of the City of Laurel's
agreement to accept compactible garbage from Red Lodge upon
the terms set forth below:
The City of Laurel will accept only compactible garbage
for thirty (30) days beginning today, December 17th.
The City of Red Lodge will pay $3.00 per cubic yard of
garbage delivered to-the Laurel dump, but such charges will
be on the basis of full truckloads only. In other words, the
full carrying capacity of each truck will be charge eventhough
the actual contents may be less than capacity.
We will bill the City-of Red Lodge on the first of each
month in January and February, 1985. Payment must be made
within 30-days of billing.
The City of Laurel will consider extending the period
of allowed dumping; however,:this agreement will expire on
January 16th, 1985, and any extensions will be considered at
such time.
We will expect the trucks to arrive by 2:00 p.m. if
possible. We will arrange to have a key made available to
you for the dump in case of delays or emergencies on your
part.
