GARBAGE COMMITTEE

A quorum (3 or more) present the following action was taken by
the committee:
-Ernie Davis asked Jim Redman and John Volmer, drivers of the
solid waste packer, to attend the meeting to meet the new committee
members. Their imput was very helpful.
-Discussion followed concerning Katherine Grudzinzki of 19 4th Avenue.
She stated she has not used the garbage services for two months, but
has paid her son to haul her garbage away. She stated that she has
to walk more than half a block to dump her garbage and has to pass
in front of a business (Lord's Video) to do so. She has requested
a dumpster be placed closer to her house and that she be credited
for two months of non service.
Motion by Ernie Davis, seconded by Vern Halvorson, that a dumpster
be moved to the alley between 3rd Avenue and 4th Avenue. Motion
carried 5--0.
The committee recommends that she be credited for two months service.
-Discussion followed regarding the dumpster of Mrs. Steve Hollingshead
of 419 Maple Avenue. She requested that her dumpster be placed
back or returned to the park (Russell Park). Mrs. Hollingshead
submitted a petition of no protest from the neighbors. After a
long discussion, two solutions were presented:
1. Move the dumpster to the north side of South 5th Street
between them and Bruce Teeters.
2. Move the dumpster to south side of South 5th Street,
back in Russell Park.
Motion made by Bob Graham, seconded by Vern Halvorson to place
dumpster on north side of South 5th Street. Motion carried 5--0.
Meeting adjourned at 6:15 p.m.
