A quorum (3 or more) present, the following action was taken by
the Committee:
Discussion on purchasing used garbage trucks from the City
of Billings. The City of Billings has. offered the City of
Laurel the right to purchase their used trucks for trade-in
value without going through the bid process as provided in
state codes. It was the recommendation of the Mayor to try a
three year program to see how it works while we build up a
reserve.
Motion by Albert Ehrlick, seconded by Larry Thomas, to
purchase the 1982 White garbage truck for $11,000. Motion
carried.
The Committee received a City of Billings ordinance on
making garbage collection by the City exclusive, for the
committee to review.
Motion by Gay Easton, seconded by Albert Ehrlick, to have
Dave Michael prepare an ordinance for the City of Laurel for the
next garbage committee meeting, for their review.. Motion carried.
Larry Thomas questioned the increase to multi-family units.
Dave Michael will check the committee reports and report his
findings at the next meeting.
