GARBAGE COMMITTEE
NOVEMBER 15, 1993 5:00 P.M.

Larry Thomas
Peggy Schram
Bob Graham
The City garbage crew attended the meeting and brought suggestions
as to how to solve some of the problems they have been having at
the container site.
They submitted the following suggestions:
Minimum charge should be $2.00 to $3.00.
A scale needs to be installed at the site.
The scrap iron should be saved.
An article needs to be put in the Laurel outlook
explaining to the public the charges and what can
and cannot be taken at the container site.

Motion by Marvin Carter, seconded by L.D. Collins to-allow
container site personnel to charge between $1.00 and $6.00 for
small items. Motion carried.
The Committee felt that it also needs to know how much money is
being made at the container site.
Motion by Marvin Carter, seconded by Peggy Schram, to charge
a fee for all demolition and construction material dumped at the
container site. Motion carried 6--4.
Motion by Marvin Carter, seconded by Larry Thomas, to charge
for tire disposal. Motion carried.
