HomeMy WebLinkAboutClassification Appeals Committee Minutes 10.24.1991October 24, 1991 Laurel City Council Classification Appeals Committee Review of following: TAC Operator upgrade; Grade 3 to 7. After hearing testimony, the responsibilities of a TAC operator are above that of a dispatcher. These operators are state certified as terminal agency coordinator, of which the City needs at least one, and maybe one backup. We have 2 that are certified and one in training. It was suggested that monetary compensation be paid rather than upgrading. Unions offer. Any person appointed by the administration to provide. the services to the City shall be compensated at the rate of an additional, $50.00 per month, upon producing a TAC certification. Motion by Bob Graham to take the proposal to the Council for monetary compensation for the dates only. Endorsement of X dollar amounts for all TAC operators. Motion was seconded by Rev. Ray Willis-._ Motion carried 6--0. Request was made for retroactive as of March 1st. Working Foreman's appeal. Grade 16 to 18. Discussion of duties asked of them that was not asked of them in years past. There being no written list submitted by Foreman, the Committee listened to the testimony of schedule, equipment, manpower, time estimates, material cost, and doing paperwork not required of them in the past. Motion by Rev. Ray Willis, to grant the upgrade. Tn Justification asked to do duties in supervisory position, primarily that have not been asked of them before in the area of planning, material costs and project discussion. Motion was seconded by Bob Graham. Motion was carried 6--0. The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 p.m. Present: Council Members: Chuck Rodgers, Bob Graham and L.D.
