Larry McCann will start coming to the Licenses meetings in place of
Rob Harris, but he will take it out of his allotted time for doing
his fire inspections. The Committee feels that he does not have to
attend every meeting.
Boise Cascade has not put their sprinkler system inside their
building like they promised when they were given their license. A
time limit needs to be set and adhered to. As it stands now they
are in violation of their agreement to get their business license.
Vicki will call Fox Lumber Company and talk to them about it.
A discussion on the Thompson's selling food on the sidewalk in
front of their business. This is a violation of City Codes.
Should we stop the selling on all sidewalks? This would affect
Crazy Days and various times of the year when selling is done in
front of the stores.
Motion by Larry Thomas, seconded by Gay Easton, to allow the
Thompson's variety license to stand until next year and the
committee will investigate the validity of selling on the sidewalk.
Motion carried.
Joe Bradley suggested that we might revamp our City licenses and
have one for selling goods and one for services.
Motion by Ron Marshall, seconded by Gay Easton, to have Joe
Bradley study and draw up an ordinance to revamp city licenses to
have one for selling goods and one for selling services. Motion
carried.
Mike Atkinson brought to the Committee's attention the problems
going on with Bill Goff's store, Best Home Improvement. The State
of Montana is concerned and so is Yellowstone County due to the
amount of complaints that they have received. Joe Bradley is
working on this and needs more complaints made before he takes
action.
Respectfully submitted,
Bob Graham, Chairman
