The committee recommends to amend section 5.04.061 of the Laurel
Municipal Code. This would allow the fee for fire inspections to be
set by resolution rather than by the ordinance.
The committee had discussion regarding whether to increase the
license fee to sixty dollars ($60.00) and have the fee include a
fire inspection when required. It was explained this would take a
burden off the downtown businesses. The committee recommends the
general license fee be increased to sixty dollars ($60.00), and
include an annual fire inspection. This would amend section
5.08.010 of the Laurel Municipal Code.
The committee recommends changing the ten dollar ($10.00) fire
inspection fee to twenty-five dollars for persons wishing to
establish a new business in Laurel.
