It is my understanding that there will soon be an opening on the Laurel
Library Board. It further is my understanding that per LMC one seated City
Council member can serve on the Laurel Library. I would very much like to
serve on this Board.
Throughout Laurel's history there have been women who have influenced
aspects of Laurel's development as a community. Many of these women have
also been supporters of the Laurel Public Library. From Carrie Erb who first
campaigned for Laurel to have a library, then served as librarian for many
years; to Donna Kilpatrick who was a councilwoman and supporter of the
Laurel Library; to Lois Markegard who served on Laurel's Tree Board for many
years and was a supporter of Laurel's Library. I very much would like to follow
in these fine leaders' footsteps and serve in an active capacity on the Laurel
Library Board.
