The Tree Board met on the afternoon of December 18, 2008. Chuck Rodgers, the new
appointee, was welcomed to the Board.
The agenda of the day was to arrange for Arbor Day activities, according to Tree City
regulations. Wednesday, April 15" 2009, was chosen. A tree will be planted in Fireman's Park
at 6:00 P.M. and will be dedicated to former fireman and Tree Board member, Gaylord Easton.
The firemen will be asked to participate and the entire community will be invited.
Kurt Markegard reported that the city trees and the parks sustained minimal damage during the
October snow storm, due to the pruning program which has been carried out recently. He also
reported that a high graphic computer has been obtained, which permits reference to specific trees
in parks and boulevards.
The next meeting of the Board will be on January 15, 2009, at 2:00 P.M.
