ORDINANCE NO. 008-10 ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAUREL AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF
THE CITY OF LAUREL, MONTANA, TO CHANGE THE ZONING OF 40 ACRES OF
LAND CURRENTLY ZONED AGRICULTURAL OPEN TO SUBURBAN RESIDENTIAL.
WHEREAS, in the interest of encouraging sound growth of the City of Laurel; and
WHEREAS, the owners of two 20 acre parcels of property within the City's zoning
jurisdiction have requested a zone change from Agricultural Open to Suburban Residential; and
WHEREAS, the parcels are described as follows:
Parcel No. 1: Tax Id. No. D02687 further described as "E2SESE, Section 11, T.S2,
R24E", Yellowstone County, Montana; and
Parcel No. 2: Tax Id. No. D02687A further described as "E2NESE, Section 11, T.S2,
R24E", Yellowstone County, Montana.
WHEREAS, the Laurel-Yellowstone City-County Planning Board reviewed the request and
on September 11, 2008, at a duly advertised public hearing, gathered public input including comments
supporting and opposing the request; and
WHEREAS, based on the information provided by the owners and at the public hearing, the
Laurel-Yellowstone City-County Planning Board recommends the City Council deny the zone
change; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of Laurel also held a duly advertised public hearing on
December 2, 2008, at which the request for the change was considered in addition to the
recommendation from the City-County Planning Board and at which no comments were heard;
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Laurel hereby finds it is in the best interests of the
residents of the City of Laurel to approve this zone change for the proper development and orderly
growth of the City;
IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Laurel, Montana that the
request to change , an Addition to the City of Laurel, from
Agricultural Open to Residential Suburban be approved.
This ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days after final passage by the City Council
and approved by the Mayor.
Introduced and passed on first reading at a regular meeting of the City Council on
, 2008, by Council Member.
PASSED and ADOPTED by the Laurel City Council on second reading this
day of , 2009, upon motion of Council Member
