ORDINANCE No. 578
BEING AN ORDINANCE CREATING A STREET SWEEPING DISTRICT AND
PROVIDING FOR THE ASSESSMENT AND COSTS THEREFOR AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAUREL:
Section 1. That there is herewith created a Street Sweeping
District , which shall hereinafter be known as Street Sweeping District No. 1.
Section 2. That the boundaries of said District shall be
as follows:
Main Street from its intersection at Wyoming Avenue on
the East, to the intersection at Fourth Avenue on the West;
First Avenue from its intersection with Main Street on the
South, to its intersection with Third Street on the North;
First Street from its intersection with Second Avenue on the
West, to its intersection with Montana Avenue on the East;
Colorado Avenue from its intersection with Main Street on
the South, to its intersection with First Street on the North;
Montana Avenue from its intersection with Main Street on
the South to its intersection with First Street on the North.
Section 3. That the streets and alleys within the above de-
scribed District shall be swept during the year as the City Engineer of the
City of Laurel shall deem necessary.
Section 4. That the costs incurred in the sweeping of the
above-described District shall be assessed against all of the lots therein, pro-
rated among the lots according to the frontage each lot bears to the total front-
age of the District.
Section 5. It is herewith declared that an emergency exists
and that this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its
passage.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Laurel and approved
by the Mayor this 19th day of July, 1966.
