ORDINANCE NO. 565
ORDINANCE NO. 5650 BEING AN ORDINANCE DISCONTINUING,
ABANDONING, AND VACATING A CERTAIN ALLEY IN THE CITY OF LAUREL,
MONTANA.
WHEREAS,on the 8th day of February, 1961, a petition
was duly filed in the office of the City Clerk of the City of
Laurel, Montana, by the Church of the Latter Day Saints, praying
that an alley in said City of Laurel, Montana, be discontinued,
abandoned and vacated by said City;
AND WHEREAS, notice of the time and place for hearing
protests on said petition was duly published in the Laurel Out-
look, a weekly newspaper of general circulation, published in
the City of Laurel, Montana, in an issue thereof published on
Wednesday, February 8, 1961, and three copies of said notice
were posted in three public places in said City by order of the
City Council of said city;
AND WHEREAS, in said notice Tuesday, the 21st day of
February, 1961, at 7:30 o'clock, P. M., and the City Council
Chamber of the City Hall in the City of Laurel, Montana, were
fixed as the time and place for hearing protests on said petition;
AND WHEREAS, no protests were made in writing or in
person;
AND WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Laurel,
Montana, finds that said petitioner is the sole owner of all the
property abutting on that portion of said alley to be discontin-
ued, abandoned and vacated, and that portion of said alley to be
discontinued, abandoned, and vacated can be discontinued, aban-
doned and vacated without detriment to the public interest;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF LAUREL, MONTANA:
That portion of the alley in Block 12 of the Fourth
Avenue Subdivision and Block 13 of Laurmac Subdivision Amended
lying in Sec. 9, T 2S, R 24E, MPM, and more particularly des-
cribed as follows:
Beginning at the north east corner of lot 28
in Block 12 of the Fourth Ave. Sub., thence
north a distance of 283.2' to the north east
corner of lot 2, Block 13, Laurmac Sub. Amen-
ded, thence east a distance of 20' to the
north west corner of lot 1, Block 13, Laurmac
Sub. Amended, thence south a distance of 283.2'
to the north east corner of lot 11, Block 12,
Fourth Ave. Sub., thence west a distance of 20'
to the point of beginning,
be, and the same is hereby discontinued, abandoned and vacated.
PASSED AND APPROVED THIS 3RD DAY OF MARCH, 1984.
