Any persons firm or corporation engaged in the electric lighting and electric power business shall pay the sum of Twelve and 50100 Dollars ($12.50) per quarter for such license; That Section 207 of Said ©rdinanoe. be , and the same is, hereby amended to real as follows: Section 207-- Second Sand Store. Every keeper of a second hand store shall pay a sum of Five and no/100 Dollars ($5.00) per quarter for such lioanse; That Section M of said ordinennoe be, and the same if, hereby amended to read as follows: Section 171-- ELovators and Flow MiLls, Any person, firm or corporation engaga l in operating and q onducting flour mills and elevators shall pay the sum of Seven and no/&Q0 Dollars ($7,p0) per quarter for such license, That Section L73 of said ,ord:inanoe be, and the same is, hereby amended to reas as :EOLIOws, Section 173-- Food and. Printing, Publishing or Newspaper. Every person, firm or corporation engaged in the printing, publishing or newspaper business shall pay a license of Seven and no/100 Dollars ($7.00) per quarter. That Section 202 of said Ordinance be, and the s same is, hereby repealed. That Article 3 of Ordinance No. 228 be, and the same is, hereby amended as follows: That following Section 217 and immediately preceding Section 218 of said Article and Ordinance, there be, and there hereby is, inserted the following sections; Section 217A--Cold Storage. Any person, firm or corporation engaged in the cold storage business within said City shall pay the sum of Three and 50/100 Dollars ($3.50) per quarter for such license. Section 217E-- .7. Real Estate and CoUection of rents. Any person, firm or corporation engaged in the real estate business and collection of rents within said City shall pay the sum of Three and 50/100 Dollars ($3.50) per quarter for such license.. Section 2.--Penalty. Every person, firm or cor- poration and all of their agents or employees carrying on or engaged in transacting any business, calling or profession mentioned in this ordinanoe for which a license is required and all persons who shall aid or assist in carrying on or transacting the same without first procuring alicense there- for or who shall Q *ti=e to operate after the revocation of such license as provided in Section 3 bereof shall, for every business transaction therein, be deemed quilty of a violation of this ordinance and upon conviction thereof shall be fined •- ?? . . m. • .1 0 0 . ?_, not less than Ten and no/100 Dollars ($10.00) nor more than Two Hundred and no/100 Dollars ($200,00) or may be imprisoned in the City Jail not exceeding sixty (60) days or may be punished by both such fine and imprisonment. Section Z.--Revocation of License. Whenever the City Council shall doom it best for the public interest so to do, it may, by resolution passed by a majority vote of said Council and duly approved by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk, reface to authorize the issuance of any license herein provided for and the said Council may like - wise, by a majority vote and passage of resolution in the usual manner, revoke any and all such licenses that may be issued as herein provi"d when they shall deem best for the public interest so to do, provided, however, that before prooeding to the revocation of such license as herein pro- vided, a notice in writing shall be first served upon the licensee by the Chief of iolioe informing him of the time and the place where said hearing shall be had and advising him that unless he appear and show cause to the contrary, such license will be revok6do At the time specified in such notice or at the adjournment of such meeting the Council shall hear such evidence as may be offered by wither the City or Laurel ox the said licensee before revoking suoh license. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
