Old Business
The pay raise issue was discussed. Clair motioned to make pay raises retroactive to
July 1, 2008 plus 3%. Margaret seconded the motion. Motion passed. Gail will
write a letter to Bill Sheridan requesting that the pay raises be effective
immediately and retroactive to July 1, 2008.
The Daytime Book Club met for the 1 St time with 6 participants. Christy stated that
the club will meet 2 times per month with story time available for children. Story
time will be moved to Tuesday each week at 10 am effective immediately.
Nancy showed screen shots of the library website along with an explanation of
each link that will be provided.
The lockers provided by the Library Trust have arrived but are not up yet. The left
panels for 5 of the 6 lockers were not the correct panels and had to be reordered.
The correct panels should arrive within the next 4 weeks.
New Business
The Community Room is being used more frequently than ever before. We
currently have an EMT class meeting on Monday & Wednesday evenings, the
Home School Knit & Crochet group meets the third Monday of each month, guitar
lessons are held on Wednesday afternoon 2:30 - 4:00 and Saturday 9:15-10:15 &
10:30-11:30, Bunco meets the third Thursday of each month except December, and
testing for Census workers is being held each Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 pm.
Library Board letters of interest have been turned in to Nancy by Rachelle Tresch,
Mike Dewey, and Rosanne Coy. These letters will be turned over to Mayor Olson
for his appointment.
Bernice Mason will present her annual holiday program, "Holiday Treasures", on
Thursday, December 41h at 7:00 pm.
Nancy has requested thoughts from board members on staff evaluations. It was
decided that one more evaluation should be performed to let staff members know
where they are in terms of their ability to perform their duties. Nancy will rewrite
the evaluation forms to be job specific so that we have a better idea how well staff
members are doing their job.
The library is currently overseeing 4 community service workers. Two other
workers have either finished the time required of them or have been let go because
of poor performance. Nancy will report further on this subject next month.
