HomeMy WebLinkAboutAmbulance Committee Minutes 10.14.1987MINUTES Ambulance COMMITTEE DATE October 14~ 1987 TIME 7:05 p.m. PLACE OF MEETING City Hall Members present: Chairman Chuck Dickerson N~rman Orr , Ervin Wood , Charlie Pratt, Pat Metzger Other's p~esent:Chloe Kael. berer ~ Tom Eastman, Joy Watts, Diana Smart A quorum (3 or more) present the fo/lowing action was taken by the committee: Chuck call meeting to order. Guests introduced themselves. Pat handed out folders which contained information on the accident that happened on September 30, 1987. Patient was transported from accident scene to Deaconess Hospital by Billings Ambulance free of charge. Pat moved to absorb patients charge, seconded by Ervin. Motion carried. Tom's report was read. He was seen in Deaconess ER for a sore neck and headache (10-14-87 Tom feels fine). Diana's report was read. She was not hurt. Charge #61-6-302 (no Proof of insurance) was dismissed. The insurance copy was on the steering column. Charlie Pratt will witness this. Ed Miller's report was read. Patient was not hurt except for a bruise on hip and hand. It was recommended Diane not pay ticket yet but she already had paid it. Estimate report from Modern Auto was $1,766.70. We received insurance check 10-14-87 for $791.67. LA1 was used on 10-14-87 for an emergency call. Pat saw no difference in the way it was handled. A letter will be written to the Bolaird family showing our concern and that we won't charge her. Chuck suggested we hold up on this awhile and see what happens. Council approval will be obtained at a later date to "NO CHARGE" Mrs. Bolaird. The Ambulance Committee feels Diana was not out of line in her actions and no disciplinary action be taken against Diana. Moved by Charlie and seconded by Norman. Motion carried. II. Modern Auto gave us an estimate to repaint LA1 completely. If the crew sands and tapes the ambulance it would cost $620.00 for acrylic enamel and $780.00 for Emeron. If Modern Auto does the ~ whole job, it would be $1,324.00 for acrylic enamel and $1,484.00 ~.~ III. IV. V. VI. VII. VIII VIIII page 2 Ambulance Committee meeting Oct. 14,1987 for Emeron. The hood, right fender and left front of body 'needs repainting from the accident anyway. Pat will talk to Don and the Mayor on how to get money to pay the $1,000.00 deductible and the paint job. Dave Gauslow suggested we get a battery conditioner for the ambulance. Cost about $600.00. Received 3 Rauen hand held radios. Work really well. Letter from State EMS Bureau was received. They suggest we update our radio license. They recommend 4 channels; 1.Ambulance to hospital (local) 2. Ambulance to hospital (regional) 3. EMS dispatch; 4. Mutual aid. Pat will get bids for updating our radio frequencies. We have a Mennon-Grey heart moniter sitting on the shelf that we will no longer be able to use because we need the recorder now. Pat will check on the price that it's worth. November 16th at 5:30 p.m. next meeting. .Norma is an EMT Coordinater for Laurel. She would like to set up a 20 hr. refresher course. We may use South School free of charge. .Pat is teaching First Aid Class. The class would like to ride as 3rd person. According to the ambulance by laws they are qualified. Committee sees no problems as far as they know they "Keep hands off." Meeting adjourned at 8:35 p.m. Respecful ly submitted, Chuck Dickerson Chairman
