AMBULANCE COMMITTEE

A quorum (3 or more) present, the following action was taken
by the Committee:
Bruce Teeters started the meeting by stating that at present
the Laurel Ambulance Service was short of personnel and not able
to cover all hours scheduled during the week. A proposal was
submitted (see attached) from Billings Ambulance Service whereby
services would be made available to the City of Laurel at no cost.
Allen Bertapelle of Arrow Medical Services stated that his firm ·
would match the proposal from Billings Ambulance.
Comments were made by Joe Bradley and Bob Gauthier that the
City of Laurel did not like to be in the position of having to
choose between the two competing services. Both Arrow Medical
Services and Billings Ambulance stated that they would share
service to Laurel during the next two months.
After some discussion both services stated that they would~
provide service from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
on the following basis:
8/25/89 to 9/29/89 - Arrow Medical Services
10/2/89 to 11/3/89 - Billings A~bulance
Motion by Ron Marshallf seconded by Jack Galushathat both
services share the upcoming two months. Motion carried.
Arrow Medical Services stated that they would contact Chief
Crowe to arrange details for dispatch.
The meeting was adjourned at 5:40 p.m.

Billings Ambulance Service will provide ambulance service for
the City of Laurel; Laurel, Montana as follows:
1. Billings Ambulance will station an ambulance in the
City of Laurel for 12 to 14 hours per day for no
fee for a time to be agreed upon by both parties.
2. Billings Ambulance will bill the patients that it
transports through its billing system.
3. When the ambulance is called in the City of Laurel,
Laurel Dispatch Center will notify Billings
Ambulance in Billings. At that time, we will send
another ambulance toward the City of Laurel to
provide back-up service while the other ambulance
is responding to the call.
4. Billings Ambulance Service will coordinate with
Advance Life Support Services (DeCare) to provide
necessary service to the patient involved.
5. One of the personnel, who will be on staff, lives
in Laurel and would be familiar with the area.
6. This proposal is submitted to the City of Laurel on
