The first topic of discussion was: Parking and traffic control.
We need a plan of action for the day. Suggestions referred to the
Police Committee were:
1. one-way traffic streets
2. designate special parking areas and bus people
to the park areas (use school buses).
a. MRL parking .lot on Railroad Street
(John Morrell)
b. Woods Powr' Grip parking lot
c. Ike Schessler's parking lot and on top of
the hill
3. Ask assistance for the day from the Sheriff's
Department auxiliary, etc.
4. No parking on northwest corner of the football
field :
Fred Feuerbacher moved, seconded by Bob Graham, that all
groups wishing to participate in the park activities on July 4th
must notify this committee no later than May 4th. Motion carried.
Persons requesting to have a booth in the Park on July 4th after
May 4th will be refused.
It was suggested that no alcohol be sold in the park on
July 4th.
Other items discussed were: porta potties, if they are moved
from the street dance area they should be emptied first. Donna
will check with Terry Steinmessel about working together to order
the porta potties.

4th of July Committee meeting of September 24, 1990
The firemen will present a pr<.:~osal concerning the area they
need for the barbecue. We are goin~ to t£y to limit the cars and
trucks in Thomson Park, but it is c~ ~tain the firemen will need
some vehicles in there. A designat~d loading zone for the baseball
people would help them keep vehicles out of the park. Last year
several vehicles were seen traveling down the sidewalk and into
the park. We need to eliminate this.
Also, an additional power source is needed in the center
of the park, near the concession stand. A better method of
knowing who needs electricy, and for what, is needed. We also
need a budget in order to provide porta potties.
The next meeting is October 29th at 7:00 p.m. in the City
Council Chambers.
Respectfully submitted,
Donna Kilpatrick, Chairman
