by the Committee:
A report was given by a representative of the Police
Committee saying that not much can be done to control traffic.
The traffic problem arises at the exits getting out of town.
The Highway Patrol reports that there is a problem trying to
direct traffic off the exit.
Bob Graham moved that a letter be written to the Yellowstone
County Commissers and the Yellowstone County Sheriff requesting,
early on, additional help from the county before, during and after
the fireworks. Keith Thompson seconded the motion, motion carried.
Ken Olson, Mike Atkinson, A1 Crowe and Darrell McGillen
will work on a emergency vehicle route in getting emergency
vehicles out of the congested area.
After study, the bussing idea was not good, liability is a
problem.
Porte potties are available from the Jaycees. Transportation
will be provided from the street dance area to the park and
provisions will be made to have the potties emptied prior to being
transported. Financing will be needed for having the potties
emptied.
Additional persons are needed for patroling during the
fireworks for keeping the bathrooms supplied with toilet tissue
and for helping to stop individuals from firing fireworks in
the crowd area. We will check into finding out. if the bathrooms
in the pool can be used even if the pool is closed.
Plans so far call for the barbecue and fireworks by the
Laurel Volunteer firemen; the street dance and pancake breakfast
by the Laurel Jaycees; a baseball tournament by the Legion
team; and the parade by the Laurel Chamber of Commerce.

1991
A discussion was held on whether or not businesses should
be allowed to sell wares in the park during the 4th of July.
In recent years, sales in the park have been limited to non-
profit organizations.
The possibility of having a band concert by several
bands who are expected to be in this area about this same
time was explained by Steve Patton. He will continue working
on this plan.
The me~t±~g meeting is March 25th at 7:00 p.m. in the Council
Chambers.
