A quorum (3 or more) present, the following action was taken
by the Committee:
Ken recommended that First Avenue be ~$signated as the
emergency vehicle route and that 8th ~ from 1st Avenue to
the alley east of the high school be closed to traffic. The
Committee concurred with the recommendation and it will be
referred to the Police Committee for its input.
The theme of the 1991 Fourth of July celebration will be
"For Those Who Served" to honor veterans of all wars.
A parking committee consisting of Ken Olson, Mike Atkinson,
Fred Feuerbacher and Chuck Rodgers will study loading zones
and parking in general around the park and will report back.
Organizations planning to participate so far are: Laurel
Jaycees, Street dance on July 3rd; pancake breakfast and Kiddi~
parade; Laurel Chamber of Commerce, Parade; Laurel Volunteer
Firemen, Barbecue and fireworks~
The deadline for requesting a booth in the Park for July
4th, is May 4th.
Eight porta-potties will be moved from the'dance site
to the Thomson Park sometime on the morning of July 4th.
A copy of the tournament schedule for the American Legion
team is attached.
The next meeting will be Monday, April 29th, and the May~
meeting will be held Monday, May 20th.
