Laurel Urban Renewal Agency (LURA)
DECEMBER 18TH, 2017, LAUREL LIBRARY CONFERENCE ROOM
Meeting was called to order by]udy Goldsby. Roll call/Attendance: Quorum of voting members present:
Mardie Spalinger, ]udy Goldsby, Daniel Klein and Don Smarsh. City Staff: Noel Eaton. City Council: Rick Herr.
Chamber of Commerce: Marcia Hafner. Beartooth RC&D: Sue Taylor. Big Sky EDA: Dianne Lehm and Thom
Macieam,n. Attendee's: Ken Otson.
Introductions: Ray Ezell who is new to the Laurei City Planning Dept.
Approval of Minutes from Previous Meeting: Dan made the motion and Mardie seconded it.
Old Business:
a. Noel reported the City Council denied LURA's request to give $12,500.00 to the High
School for a new sign.
b. Noel gave an update regarding the paving project on So. Montana, and reported that
the corner of SE 4th and So. Washington projects are complete.
New Business:
a. The Auto Connection Facade Grant was motioned by Dan and seconded by Mardie.
b. Mountain Mudd Facade Grant was motioned by Mardie and seconded by Don.
c. The Harmony Facade Grant was motioned by Dan and seconded by Don.
d. Fireman's Park &River Ridge Landscaping Technical Assistance Grant was motioned
by Dan and seconded by Mardie.
f. Fireman's Park & Iron Workers Technical Assistance Grant was motioned by Mardie I
and seconded by Don. �,
Reports:
a. City Administration: None.
b. City Planner: See Above.

c. City Treasurer: None. I
d. Big Sky EDA: Dianne gave an updated report on the Sports Facilities Feasibility
Study.
e. Beartooth RC&D: Sue Taylor also shared information regarding LARK.
Public Comment on Non Agenda Topics: Ken Olson commented on the nice looking projects in the TIF
district on both sides of town coming into Laurel as well as
the new interchange and the possibilities that it could bring.
Sue Taylor suggested a paid part time staff person for LURA.
