FOURT~ OF JULY COMMITTEE
March 4, 1998 5:00 P.M.

The committee met to begin discussion and organization of the 4th
of July celebration in Laurel for 1998.
Discussion was held on what, where and how to handle all of the
non-profit organizations that want to have a booth in the park, and
also whether or not to let other interested vendors be in the park
to make profit.
Debbie Ricci, representing the Chamber of Commerce, reported on
their plans for the parade. They are also considering having a
concert in the park and a marathon race.
Terry Ruff reported that the Fire Department would like the use of
the park for their BBQ and firework display.
Discussion on how to handle the park clean-up afterwards and the
porta-pott use. They are considering handing out garbage bags when
selling the firemen's tickets and also having the police reserve
have bags on hand.
