Laurel Chamber of Commerce
Board Meeting Minutes C�-ry OF LA,URE�.
The Meeting was held on December 14, 2017 at Laurel Golf Club. In attendance were: Executive Board
Members: Treasurer-Sandy Reese and executive secretary- Marcia Hafier and Chamber Assistant Camilla
Nelson. Directors: Carrie Smith, Billie Lehman, Katie Whitmoyer, Bruce Larson, Brent Renier, Roger
Heimbigner, and Renee Studiner, Members: Ken Gomer, Richard Klose, Evan Bruce, Beth Hoferer, Michelle
DeBoer, Patsy Woody, Noel Eaton and Matt Wheeler
Marcia called the meeting to order.
The minutes were approved:
Old BUSINESS
• New Members- Beartooth Tax&Consulting-Carrie Smith
• Vote for new board members- Ballots were handed out and Board members voted
o Billie Lehman- Montana Infrared Services
o Chase Anderson- UPS Store
o Beth Hoferer-The Crossings
o Patsy Woody-Ace Hardware
• Vote for new executive board members-Carrie Smith- President, Chase Anderson-VP, Sandy �
Reese-Treasurer, It was approved that these would be our new executive board.
• Volunteers to talk decorations down around city-Jan 7"' meeting at the boxcar at 8am
• Christmas to Remember report- Cami reported that we gave away 3 gallons of hot cocoa during
the parade. Decorating contest still going on until Dec 29"', 5 businesses entered
• Shop Local Report-Cami reported that we have only had 2 people turn in receipts for the Shop
Local drawing. Please pass the word to tum in receipts!!
• Holiday Open House-Tonight Dec 14th 4-7pm
New BUSINESS
• Annual Meeting- Marcia asked Roger if we could use the schools projector, he said yes
We are starting to collect donations for the annual meeting. Marcia brought up using the money for
maintenance for electrical work. She will talk to the city about electrical issues.
• Office 360- Wants to do a credit of$160 in office supplies for their membership. Billie motioned not �
to approve this, Carrie 2"�. It was approved to not trade office supplies for a membership with Office ',
360. '
Ribbon cuttings- ',
• A Haus of Realty- Had on Monday
• Chiropractic First of Laurel-January 12, Friday at 4:30pm- Open house also.
OPEN FORUM
• School District Scholarship- Sandy motioned to release the funds of $500, Renee 2nd .
Approved.
• LARC- Ken gave an update on LARC, everything is looking positive
• Christmas Decorations- We are 2 short of the poinsettias- would be $624 each to
replace. Katie moved that we replace them out of the Christmas repair fund, Billie 2"d
Approved.
• LURA- Meeting Monday @ 11am , lots of grant applications.
