BUDGET/FINANCE COMMITTEE
DECEMBER O5,2017 5:35 P.M.

Chairwoman Emelie Eaton called the regulaz meeting of the Budget/Finance Committee to order at 5:35 p.m.
The next regular Budget/Finance meeting will be on Tuesday,December 19,2017 at 5:35 p.m.
The minutes of the November 21,2017 meeting were reviewed. Chuck made a motion to approve the
minutes,Tom seconded the motion,all in favor,motion passed.
Claims entered through 12/O1/2017 which totaled$407,316.67 were presented to the committee. Emelie
reviewed both the Claims Detail Register and the Check Register to ensure accuracy. Tom made a motion to
approve the claims,Chuck seconded the motion,all in favor,motion passed.
No purchase requisitions were presented to the Committee. �
The Comp/OT report for PPE 11/19/2017 was reviewed by the Committee. The Committee questioned
Brittney's travel time to and from Bozeman,MT. Bethany explained the overtime to the Committee.
The Payroll Registers for PPE 11/19/2017 totaling$181,950.12 was reviewed by the Committee. Tom made
a motion to recommend Council approval of the payroll registers, seconded by Chuck,all in favor,motion
passed.
CIerWTreasurer Comments:
The City Clerk presented a letter from the CAO requesting reimbursement for expenses incurred when in an '
accident in Las Vegas,NV. The Committee approved the payment of the expenses.
The City Clerk stated that the auditors were back to complete the fiscal year 2016-2017 audit. The auditors
had inquired about the status of the Crime Victims Funds, which was an audit finding last fiscal year. The
auditors made the recommendation that the funds be sent back to the State of Montana. As of this date the
funds are still being held by the City of Laurel. The City Clerk requested that the Budget Finance Committee
give her a recommendation. Emelie made a motion to approve of returning the funds to the State of Montana,
Tom seconded the motion,all in favor,motion passed. Bethany will inquire of the State of Montana who the
funds should be returned to.
Mayor's Comments:
The Mayor had no comments.
Other: Chairwoman Eaton requested Fire Chief Brent Peters attend the December 19�'Budget Finance
Committee meeting.
