Dear City Council Members:
The Laurel Chamber of Commerce would like to request permission to hald a Grand Parade an
Saturday August 9th, at 10:am. The parade will begin line-up on 7th and $th. We will ask the
Laurel Police Department to lead the parade.
The parade route will be begin at the Caboose with the continuation of the route to be
announced after meeting with the Laurel Police Dept.
The Chamber also requests permission to hold an "Craft and Food Fair", have exhibitors and live
buffalo, and possible games for children at Firemen's Park from 9:00 to 5:00 on that day.
If more information is needed, please do not hesitate to contact the Chamber office at
628-8105. No response is needed if you are in agreement with these plans. If you are not in
agreement, please contact the office as soon as possible.

Line un v~r_i1Lbe~ain at 10:00 a.m. down both sides of 7"' and 8th Avenue facing Main Street. (Parade entries will
be staggered from each of the lines). The first of block 7th Avenue is reserved for the Color Guard, Fire Department,
Ambulance, Grand Marshall. Horses can graze in the area of Woods Pow"r Grip - thgy_ will be last in the_parade.
2008 NEW PARADE ROUTE -Parade route starts at the Caboose and ends at the New Middle School.
Parade will continue on Main Street Turning left onto Pennsylvania Ave. turning left onto
First Street, right on First Ave. left on 7th Street, right on Third Ave, right on Maryland right To the NEW
Middle School
Rules are as follows:
• All vehicles MUST BE DECORATED! (except auto clubs)
• No throwing candy -candy can be handed out but not thrown from moving entries.
• A safe distance between entries -stay close enough to not cause breaks, but far enough away to allow for safety.
• Unruly conduct will not be allowed. If someone Is driving or acting in a conduct that may cause injury to another, they will
be forced to exit the parade.
• Horses and other animals will be lined up towards the end of the parade. Loud or noisy entries will be lined up towards the
front of the parade.
Judging will be done during the course of the parade.
Awards will be given to the winners of each category immediately following the parade.
