Attending: LuAnne Engh,Walter Widdis, Matt Wheeler, Kurt Markegard, Heidi Jensen
Riverside Tree Removal: Trees still haven't been removed but will be soon.
Arbor Day Grant:
• Walmart: Waiting to hear back. Bethany has submitted the grant.
• NW Energy: Dale and Bethany finished and submitted this grant last month.
• DNRC: Arbor Day Grant—$750- Kurt will submit by 12/31/17
• DNRC: New grant 2018 Urban Forestry Program Development Grant—Due Nov. 10
Kurt will look into getting an extension—Called Jeff Hermans for grant up to$15,000
• DNRC:Conservation Grant—doesn't apply for Arbor Day
• DNRC Mini grant-$500 not sure if we are continuing to pursue this money.
Department of Justice—Exxon funds for river improvement:
• South Pond abstract application—Kurt and Phyllis Bromgard presented the application on Oct.
11"'to the selection committee. A new dock and paving around the pond was presented.
• The decision about how the funds will be spent will be decided as early as March.
• The Lions Club will hopefully produce a letter that gives their commitment to this project.
• Kurt will attend the next Lions meeting Tuesday, Nov. 7`"at 12:30 to talk about the dock.
• A soils test and site engineering needed—possibly this could be donated
South Pond clean-up:
• Recent vandalism on the restroom and the picnic shelter will be painted when it warms up
• An Eagle Scout has shown interest in doing several improvements to the pond and park
• We would like to ask the Lions and various church groups to help with a Spring Clean-up before
Arbor Day
Tee Shirts—Branding logo
• At this time we don't have a design from Dynamic Designs. Lyida McKenny's artwork is the start
• Aaron would like to do fundraising by selling shirts to the students prior to Arbor Day
Next Meeting: December 14�h—9:30 to include school staff
