There was general discussion about the current Cremation charges and that when two cremains are
buried at the same time there has just been the charge for one cremation burial incurred. This is
$150.00 on weekdays and$200.00 on Saturday mornings.
There was a motion made by Ken Olson and seconded by Wallace Hall to update the Cemetery fees to
show the charge for two cremations in the same plot at the same time for weekdays would cost$225.00
and a motion made by Wallace Hall and seconded by Key Olson to update the Cemetery fees to show a
charge for two cremations in the same plot at the same time on Saturday mornings the cost would be
$300.00.All committee member voted in favor.
The Committee would like to have Sam look at the legal aspect of accepting donations for the Cemetery
entrance sign, section markers and a new kiosk, although this seems to have been addressed in the LMC.
We would like an opinion brought back to the committee for its next meeting in January 2018.
There was a robust discussion about combining the Cemetery Commission with the Park Board and the
general agreement of the discussion was that there was quite the concern that there would not be the
ability to afford the appropriate time necessary to the Commissions needs and that of the Park Boards in
one meeting. There was the thought that this would place a heavier burden on staff as well. There will
be more discussion at the next meeting.
Staff Report by Kurt. Kurt stated he is getting more dirt hauled into the cemetery for burials at no cost.
Kurt said he was forced to buy a small flammable storage shed by the Department of Labor which would
not allow us to store fuel in our Cemetery storage shed. The fuel had to be stored alone.
The meeting adjourned at 6:00pm.The next meeting will be 1/9/2018 at 5:00pm.
Respectfully Submitted,
Tom Nelson
