LAUREL—YELLOWSTONE CITY-COUNTY PLANNING BOARD
October 5th, 2017 10:00 am

Members present: Judy Goldsby,County Rep
Jon Klasna,County Rep.
Jerry Williams,Conservation Corps Rep.
Roger Giese, City Rep.
Ron Benner, County Rep.
Others present: Noel Eaton,City Planner
CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 10:05 a.m. by Judy Goldsby.
ROLL CALL: Members present were Klasna, Goldsby,Williams, Benner and Giese.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM PREVIOUS MEETINGS: A motion was made by Jerry Williams and
seconded by Jon Klasna to approve the minutes of the September 7th, 2017 meeting. The motion
carried by a vote of 5-0.
NEW BUSINESS: Public Hearing-Special Review for Allowable Uses in Residential Professional Zoning-
Maurer Chiropractic Clinic:
Chairman Goldsby opened the public hearing and first asked staff to present the item.
Noel present her staff report for the special review of"Clinics-medical and dental" in Residential
Professional zoning. Her staff report is attached.
Chairman Goldsby asked if the applicant would like to speak. Phillip Maurer stated they would like to
buy the A Haus of Realty building.They are currently operating their business on Main Street and this
location has more parking and better access to their chiropractor office.They have been operating their
business in Laurel since 2004 and look forward to continuing.
Chairman Goldsby asked if there was anyone from the public that is a proponent for the application.
Thomas and Jackie Maurer at 313 1st Avenue live between the property and the corner lot.They have
troubles with the neighbors to the north but feel that Maurer Chiropractic will be a good neighbor and
they are excited to have the move in.
Chairman Goldsby asked if there was anyone else from the public that is a proponent for the application.
Chairman Goldsby asked if there was anyone else from the public that is an opponent of the application
(three times).There were none.

NEW BUSINESS: Vice-Chairman nominations:a motion was made by Ron Benner and seconded by Jerry
Williams to nominate Dan Koch as the Vice-Chair of the Planning Board.The motion carried by a vote of
5-0.
OLD BUSINESS: Riverside Park Master Plan: Noel update the Planning Board on the progress of the
Master Plan. Including the applications submitted for grant money,challenges so far, and upcoming
meetings.
MISCELLANEOUS:The next meeting is November 2nd 2017
PUBLIC COMMENT ON NON-AGENDA TOPICS: There was no public wishing to speak.
ADJOURNMENT: A motion to adjourn was made by Ron Benner and seconded by Jon Klasna. The
meeting was adjourned.
