Meeting called to order @ 19:00 hours by Chairman John Smith. Members present were
John Smith, Randy Hand, Shane Linse, Doug Myers&Brock Williams
Minutes approved of last meeting. (8-22-2017)
Guest present: Nathan from KU Engineering
Claims approved: Normal and recurring for utilities, chemicals for weed control, etc. As
part of runway project $24,649.26 to KU Last item is 90% reimbursable from FAA as part
of the runway expansion. Water heater replaced in meeting room for $680.00, installed.
Motion to pay made by Brock Williams and carried unanimously.
New business:
1. Motion made by Randy and carried to provide Tax ID number to assist in
an estate resolution for airport lease.
2. Looked at providing some signage on pilots lounge and a couple other
locations to assist transient aircraft pilots to be familiar with airport.
3. Need to begin quotation process for either relocation of the existing SRE
building, or the construction of a new facility. The existing building is in the
RPZ of new runway.
Engineering Report, Nathan, of KLJ
1. Nathan noted that we will receive an additional grant, which will facilitate the
second phase construction of the new crosswind runway, without now
needing supplemental loans or funds.
2. Excess dirt is being spread in area of new hangar locations. The dirt removed
when settling is complete will also be deposited in that location to facilitate the
construction of new hangars.
3. Earthwork still on track for completion by Nov. 1st 2017. Pavement will follow
next year after soils settle. Grass Strip will not be usable until after grass is
established.
Old Business:
1. Will Metz sidewalk. Scheduled after Labor Day, concrete contractor
scheduled out until past that time. (no change)
2. Signage for gates and emergency exit to be finalized. (rough draft)
3. Web page progressing, not finalized.
4. Need to look at feasibility to have alarms installed in Maintenance shed.
