Samantha seconded the motion. Motion passed. Correspondence None Circulation Report—compared to same time period last year... Traffic: down 8.6%; circulation: all items circulated totaled 3,938 (including 456 eBooks), book circulation was up 14.8%, media circulation was down 20.4%, eBook checkouts for this month was 13.1%of total book circulation,we circulated 632 items to partners and 104 items from other libraries; computers: internet use was down 13.5%, children's use was down 57.1%,wi-fi use up 17.9%; patron cards: not available right now due to software migration to the cloud. There were 44 tech assists in August. Old Business Nancy attended the Fall Workshops in Bozeman September 7th& 8th, 2017. There were a limited number of workshops offered this year. They included building a digital map using Montana GIS resources, improving the library's website and social media presence, finding the correct dialogue to have those"crucial conversations"needed to enhance library services and director/trustee training for future growth.Nancy stated that the workshops were very interesting and informational. It is always a good idea to take "refresher"courses on how the library should work for its' citizens. The Coal Severance Tax Federation funding has not been distributed to individual libraries as of September 1, 2017. The date of distribution depends largely upon when the State Library received their funding. As result of the libraries not receiving travel funds for the Federation meeting on September 23, 2017,Nancy will see if it can be cancelled so libraries don't have to pay for this expense out of their regular budgets. If Trustees are needed to attend a meeting, Nancy will give you a call. New Business The Federation Coordinator's meeting scheduled for October 12th has been cancelled because of the Federation budget non-distribution. Tracy Cook at the Montana State Library has assured everyone that the funding is coming but not sure when exactly. It may arrive in October or it may not be received until early March 2018. The next Montana Shared Catalog meeting is being held in online HUBS. Nancy has stated that she will attend the nearest HUB in Billings on Friday, October 6,2017. The meeting is scheduled 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Each member will bring their own lunch. The MLA Fall Retreat will be held at Chico Hot Springs Sunday, October 15th&Monday, October 16th. Nancy is planning on attending the retreat. Any trustees or staff wanting to attend need to let her know by September 30th so she can reserve your room and submit a registration in your name. The City is sending out a tri-fold newsletter in the next water bill. The library submitted j information on the Summer Reading Program statistics&winners,partners sharing and book club kit availability. Patti McGahan has submitted her resignation from the library. She has asked that her last day be December 13th. Patti has stated that she will greatly miss working at the library but wants to spend more time traveling with her husband. Dixie motioned that we accept Patti's resignation for December 13, 2017; Bill seconded the motion. Motion passed. Other Coming up—Board members decided the next book sale should be held May 8-12,2018. Addressing the Board Samantha has stated that Barnes&Noble would like to donate a yellow"Lego"bookcase to the library. Dixie motioned that the donation be accepted from Barnes&Noble, Samantha seconded the motion; motion passed.
