Members Present:Wallace Hall, Dave Gauslow,Chuck Rogers,Scot Stokes,Tom Nelson, Mayor Mark
Mace
Others: None
The meeting was opened at 5:08pm and there were no public comments.
First on the agenda was the cemetery brochures.Tom had received a quote from Alpha Graphics in
Billings for 500 trifold paper brochures from 8.5"X 11"White 80#stock. Copy of the quote is attached.
These would look identical to the mock up that Kurt had given to the commission at our last meeting.
Alpha Graphics said they could improve the artwork.
There was a motion made by Wallace Hall, seconded by Dave Gauslow to have staff order the 500
brochures be printed once the proof was emailed to Chairman Nelson for his approval.A vote was taken
and the motion passed 6-0.
Next on the agenda was section markers and the need for them. The commission feels there is a need
for section markers. Chuck Rogers mentioned that there currently are some sections with markers that
are placed at ground level. There was then some discussion as to whether to leave the markers that are
present and provide markers in the same design for the sections without them. Chuck, felt we could
realize some cost savings in this manner. Chuck Rogers and Tom Nelson will get together and look at
what is and is not in the cemetery for current markers and report back to the commission.
Last on the agenda was other items for which there was discussion and common interest in designing
and funding some sort of visible signage for our cemetery that can be seen and read when driving near
the cemetery so that people know that it is the Laurel Cemetery. There currently is no signage. Ideas will
be brought to the next meeting.
There were items the commission wanted to discuss at the next meeting which included, having Kurt
discuss roads in the North and East areas of the cemetery, having Kurt talk about the individual he
mentioned at the school that he thought could do some plasma cutting of metal for us inexpensively if
needed.
The next meeting will be on 6/13/2017 at 5:00 PM in the Council Conference Room
Respectfully,
Tom Nelson
