Pat spoke in reference to the Legion activities. Overall it went well the legion was down on sales and did not come out as good as they should have. Pat suggests only non-profit be in park, the monies they earn goes back into the community. People enjoyed the ball games. They did not have a problem in the field with the infield roped off. Ken reported the Fireman's barbecue was way down in Sales. He had on complaint reported about the music being too loud. Discussion on the location of the 1999 4th. Are the fireworks going to move it out of the park? The safety issues are of concern and they are at the point the football field is not big enough to provide the proper clearance between the people and the Launch cylinders. At this point it is only discussion and not a planned direction by the department. Jean Carol though the toilet locations helped and the vendor permit worked well. The clean up went smooth. Suggestions- get some one to keep tables in shelter clean during the day on the 4t~. Develop hand out for vendors and public showing locations of other vendors, Medical, Police Command, Develop for patrol and others badges that state if you need help ask me JC's Street dance went well sold out all the beer, dumpsters were plenty. JC's breakfast sold 900 plates. General comments Permits for vendors were not posted they must be displayed. Electrical supplies need to be better, how do cover cost. Better control of Profit and Non-Profit locations. Do we need some method to allow craft sales, do we charge 250.00 to craft people. Jean Carol said the only reason we did not have crafts is because her group did not do it and no one wanted to. Do we need live music in the park? Rick: JC's dance was a big problem need more control. Can they help by limiting sales to people.'? They had problem at the Caboose after the 1:00 AM closing of the Dance. Liability of selling to drunks. Legalize fire works on the fourth would help, except you then have no method of enforcement for the big problems. Use service clubs to assist with parking on 6t~. Chairman is sending letter of thanks to Sheriff, Police personnel and shops personnel Next meeting is September 10~ at 4:30. Meeting adjourned
