Th.e Project Analysis Bureau of the Montana Department of Transportatiaz~ (MDT) will soon
- - - - puF~lish'the draft 2008=2012 ;statewide 'Transportation Improvement 1~ragram (STiI')~ a iist of -
transportation improvements planned for Montana during the next five years. Federal law
requires MDT to present the draft STIP to the public and to consider all comments.
Tn 2007, we mailed over 900 copies of the draft STIP. This year, in an effort to reduce costs, we
are offering you the opportunity to review and connment on the draft STIP on-line. To view
this document on your computer screen, go to www.mdt.mt. ov ubinvolve sti .shtml.
If you would like a hard copy, simply write your name and address on the enclosed postage-
paid card and mail it to us before June 6. We will be happy to send you the printed version. If
you want us to rexxiove your name from the notification list, just-fill out the card and check the
"remove" box.
Please review the draft STIP and send its your comments, especially for projects in your area.
If you send in your comments electronically, address them to glarsonC~3mt.gov. The comment
period runs through June 20, so be sure to submit any comments prior to that date, so we can
consider them for the final document.
Once the Montana Transportation Commission approves the final STIP, we will notify you
