Meeting called to order @ 19:00 hours by Chairman John Smith
Members present were John Smith, Randy Hand, Shane Linse, &Brock Williams
Minutes approved of last meeting. (4-25-2017, no meeting in May)
Guest present: Craig Canfield, Dean Rankin
Claims approved: No major claims, however John Smith was not able to pick up entire
list from Accountants before meeting. j
Reports:
Motion made and carried that we add signage at gates (viewed from inside) to give
direction on how to get out of airport in case of gate malfunction or power outage. Exact
verbiage to be determined.
Dean Rankin with Laurel Rotary went over a no cost proposal to add a "Welcome to
Laurel' sign. Sign will be metal and placed adjacent the fuel dispensing area. Community
project with material and labor provided by Rotary Members and Associates.
Craig Canfield had some information regarding Crosswind runway.
1. Runway project was bid, and bids were within budget, so notice to
proceed was authorized.
2. Construction starting this fall, 90 days for earthwork and Phase 1
3. Phase II to be completed fall of 2018, need to allow fill and compaction to
settle before asphalt applied.
4. Motion made and carried to proceed with the finalization of engineering
costs and final FAA approval.
Old Business:
1. Will Metz sidewalk. Determined it would be best to have sidewalk
professionally poured, will schedule as time allows.
2. John Smith has performed some web site maintenance, and will finalize
some of the details soon.
3. Budget will be finalized soon for review and approval.
