COUNCIL CHAMBERS MEMBERS PRESENT: OTHERS PRESENT: Chairman- Chuck Rodgers Norman Orr Gay Easton Dirk Kroll (late) William Staudinger Miles Walton Bud Johnson V. McGillen Jim Flisrand Don Hackmann Miles Walton mentioned that a discussion needs to be held regarding the Cenex tap request at the Water Plant and also the need for a consultant to do a iow service study. Donna asked about the progress on the 13th Street problem, with Mr. Black. More information will be sent to the insurance company. Following the receipt of their response, the City may consider annexation of 13th Street. (see Street & Alley Committee minutes of 2-20-97) Darrell McGillen announced that he will not seek election for Fire Chief in April. (By the Fire Department) He mentioned that he has enjoyed working with the Council the past 14 years. Rick Musson mentioned that the Police Department has had 1,299 service calls since January 1, 1997. He will have a full report on the Police Department activities at the next council meeting. Don reminded the Mayor and Council of a Local Government Officials Workshop in Billings, April 16-18 at the Holiday Inn. Jim distributed and reviewed the DPW Update of 3-4-97. He also reported on a meeting last night with Cenex regarding a low service pumping operation. This is item 6 on the agenda tonight. There will be a resolution to authorize the study of the low service pumping. Chuck and Gay will be meeting with Cenex to discuss land in the Russell Park area. Pothole patching (weather permitting). 2. Sign replacement as needed. 3. Sweeping as weather permits. Sweepers have been down due to mechanical problems, repeatedly this winter. Parts are very difficult to find. PARKS & CEMETERY 1. Equipment and building maintenance as needed. WATER & -SEWER 1. Plants continuing with normal treatment and maintenance activities. 2. Water Improvements Project continuing with final design. Considerable time spent working with consultant on proposed water rates. . SOLID WASTE 1. Proceeding with collection and container site operation as required. ADMINISTRATION 1. Construction planning and building activity is typical of this time of the year. 2. Working with COP Construction regarding installation of water lines associated with the bridge project. Water Plant will be shut down for short periods of time throughout project. Major tie-ins at the plant have been completed. 3. Working with Negotiating Committee, contract is still in mediation.
