OTHERS PRESENT:

Numerous members of the public
Heidi Jensen unlocked the door to the Laurel Rifle Club to allow the council members and the public
the opportunity to see the inside of the building. Heidi briefly spoke regarding the lead issue in the
building, which is the reason the Mayor closed the building. Mayor Mace read the statistics from the
lead testing in the building.
The Laurel Rod and Gun Club was the next building opened on the tour. The building cannot be used
because of the mold issues. No FEMA funding is available because the building is located in the
floodplain.
Heidi unlocked the caretaker's house for those that wanted to see the inside. The building is full of
toxic mold.
Participants toured the American Legion building next. The American Legion Club has moved to the
Laurel Senior Center.
Heidi mentioned that the roof needs to be replaced on the Jaycee Hall before there are problems. The
roof replacement is in the 2017-2018 Budget.
The tour ended at 6:20 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Cindy All
Council Secretary
