Next year's Arbor Day: Tuesday, May 112018
Place: South Pond is the best choice
Budget for 2017 Arbor Day
Income: DNRC/Various Donations- $1850.00
Expenses: Total $2163.21
The difference came from the general fund for annual Arbor Day trees
Trees & Mulch: 1450.80
T-Shirts: 459.00
Wristbands: 132.21
Thank you gifts: 50.74
Arbor Day Ad: 69.50
All the food was paid for with the Walmart Grant of$400. Enough for the propane too.
The water was provided by the PTA
Snacks were provided by the Laurel Garden Club
Next year—
• We will get more donated items, mulch,trees, etc.
• Start earlier on the Walmart grant (Nov)
• Ask for donations in Oct. and reconnect in Jan.
• Send home a quick fact sheet with the kids including donors
• add coupons ie Pizza Hut, McDonalds, Yogurt place
• Program needs more zip—invite an outgoing personality to do cheers with the kids
Thank you cards—
Aaron tried scanning each card—too large. The city has the ability to scan and then they could
be sent to Selby's to be put on a large foam board to be used at each Donor's facility to
advertise the next Arbor Day. Aaron will continue to work on this. No amount was approved
for the expense at this time.
