LAUREL—YELLOWSTONE CITY-COUNTY PLANNING BOARD
June 1, 2017 10:00 am

Members present: Kathy Siegrist, President
Dan Koch, City Rep.
Lee Richardson, County Rep.
Ron Benner, County Rep.
Hazel Klein, City Rep.
Jerry Williams, Conservation Corps Rep.
Roger Giese, City Rep.
Gary Colley, City Rep.
Others present: Noel Eaton, City Planner
Cheryll Lund, City Secretary
CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 10:03 a.m. by President Siegrist.
ROLL CALL: Members present were Koch, Giese, Benner, Richardson, Colley, Klein,Williams and Siegrist.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM PREVIOUS MEETINGS: A motion was made by Dan Koch and seconded
by Hazel Klein and seconded by to approve minutes of the June 1, 2017 meeting. The motion carried by
a vote of 7-0.
NEW BUSINESS: How to navigate a variance request—presentation by Noel Eaton.
Noel handed out a memo regarding the seven (7)criteria required by LMC 17.60.020 to grant a variance.
The board has struggled with understanding the criteria because of the wording. Noel put the seven
criteria into a more "user friendly"version that the board agreed was easier to understand.
OLD BUSINESS:
Noel informed the board that Kathy Siegrist and Hazel Klein have decided not to reapply for their
Planning Board positions and tonight is their last meeting. Noel thanked them for their service.
MISCELLANEOUS:
The next meeting will be July 6, 2017 at 10:00 am.
PUBLIC COMMENT ON NON-AGENDA TOPICS: There was no public comment.
ADJOURNMENT: A motion to adjourn was made by Dan Koch and seconded by Roger Giese.The
motion carried by a vote of 6-0.The meeting was adjourned at 10:32 am.
