HomeMy WebLinkAboutChamber of Commerce (13) Laurel Chamber of Commerce Board Meeting Minutes March 27th, 2008 - OWL Diner "Buildina a better community and economic orovVch throuah communication and business relations" Meeting was held on April :1.0th at the Owl Diner. in attendance were President ]]ared Kaiser, Co-Vice President Becky Dickerson and Exec. Secretary ]]oanne Flynn; Directors: Dean Rankin, Steve Diefenderfer, Unda Frickle, Rene studiner and Members, Aletta (Wal-rVlart) ]]ames (City) Claudia (volunteer) and guest speaker Nancy Walker from Super Host Program .lared called the meeting to order and held a moment of silence. The minutes were presented for approval. Dean made a motion to approve, seconded by .lared All approved. ]oanne gave the current bank account balances and a copy of the reconciliation statement noting that the transfer of funds did not yet show on either account. Bob made a motion to approve seconded by Steve, all approved. ]](>anne added several Items that had just come in to the list of bills Including some debit charges. ]]ared asked for approval of the bills. Unda made a motion to pay the bills as stated, seconded by P, ene. All approved. ~ - Nancy Walker from the SuperHost program gave us a presentation on the program and answered several of the members questions. Further discussion was tabled until the next meeting. Laurel Brochure- We got the go ahead from Custer Country. Kammy and ]]oanne will be finalizing all the ad proofs with the members and it will be on its way to print. Hembershie Drive There are 3 new members so far this month. Ar~sv Maonetic ]jewelry (Bonnie Hoppel) Auto Tech SoecialisLs in Billings, (3oel .lunso) and Classic Pizza ( Lori Pitts) 3ulv 4~ Committee suaaestions ]]oanne will attend the firet ]]uly 4~h Committee Heeting and get back to our committee with questions and concerns. A meeting will then be set for our commiLtee to meet and make suggestions to the board. PARADE Possible changes include:. Suggestions are: expanding the route to go I block further to Penn. Ave. & Chief Husson suggested that we go to Maryland and then to the new Hiddle School. Chief 3oseeh RUN Volunteers are working on pinning bibs, ]]oanne has the new registration form done except for the correct sponsors. She will get the letters out to them in the next couple of weeks. Craft Fair -is going well - many entry forms already in. Farmers Market Waiting for approval from Park Board - Centennial Committee Update - All Class Reunion would like us to sell Laurel Lager on the 5~h - So far, ]]ared, Lumpy, Aletta, have all volunteered. ]]ared made a motion to make the commitment to sell the beer seconded by Linda- ]]oanne suggested that we fill out a Centennial Order and have product on hand at the Chamber for sale, ]]oanne has a suggested one all done - Bob made a motion to approve it and ]]ared seconded the motion. All approved. Network]ne Proeram - Steve and Linda both reported, how well the meeting went, everyone walked out with a very positive attitude abut this New and Exciting Program for Laurel. Next meeting will be on Hain Street HaDazine - ]]oanne reported that the Nain Street Hagazine article is about done. Waiting for a couple of quotes and a new picture of Laurel. Laurel will be featured in the Nay issue. Hain Street Droaram - needs to have a committee set up to look at It as it is very involved. New Business · Replace Barb on the board. Nominee's are: Don Smarsh, and Nancy iVletzgar · Compensation Committee - ]]ared stated that the board had voted to give 3oanne a raise and also asked to have a committee set up for the future. This will be followed up on at the next meeting. · CounterTop is being worked on and will be in soon. Beautification Day - May 3r~ and 4~h - looking for some pickups and trailers Counter too - is in Looks great, Thanks Phil now working on updating desk in office.
