CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE

It was reported that people from out of town are
dumping their garbage in the city's garbage containers. This
is an increasing problem which needs to be addressed by the
garbage committee. The city has to pay for hauling this
non-resident garbage to the Billings landfill.
Gary reported that he may be out of the state for about
10 days.
Bud complimented the street crew for sanding the
streets during the last snowfall.
Alan gave a recap of last year's police department
activities. He also suggested that an appreciation dinner
or something be done for the police reserves as a "Thank
You" for all the volunteer hours that they contribute to the
city.
Jim reported that the Laurel Volunteer Fire Department
had 140 calls last year.
Larry distributed a DPW update. Discussion
piping for Riverside Park and the WWTP. More
regarding the river and the intake pier.
