CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE
January 20, 1998 6:30 p.m.

In response to a question, ~Chuck reported that a date
for the city/county meeting has not been set.
Dirk complimented the police ] department on their drug
arrest at the Laurel Ridge Motel.~ He also reported that the
light on the flag pole at~city'~all is out.
Discussion regarding an encroachment letter to TErry
Fink.
Gay reported on Tradeport Authority nominating
committee meetings. They are screening applications for two
appointments to the board.
It was reported that the county commissioners held a
meeting here today in the council~chambers.
Bill reported that he feels that outside city
residents have backed off on dumping their garbage in city
garbage containers and he will keep watching them.
Larry reported that there was a big water leak on
Saturday. He had a crew out from about 11:00 a.m. to 10:30
p.m. on East Railroad Street.
Gay and Larry met with Cenex to discuss water issues at
the intake pier.
There is a pre-bid meeting tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. for
the water project.
Andy reported that the crew will plow snow and pick it
up tomorrow. He also mentioned that there was a water leak
on the line from the water plant to the sewer plant last
week. He said there have been problems with this line and
it needs to be replaced.
Bud reminded the council members of the retreat on
Saturday at 9:00 a.m. in the council chambers. He suggested
that lunch be brought in and that they eat in the meeting
area.
Discussion regarding designated school bus routes.
Chuck passed around a thank you card received from
Donna Kilpatrick. He reported that there is a governer's
conference on Emergency Management in Billings Holiday Inn
on February 10th and llth. There is also a Rural Management
Seminar at RC & D in Columbus on February 7th.
