HomeMy WebLinkAboutTree Board Minutes 03.27.2008 TREE BOARD MARCH 27, 2008 DPW CONFERENCE ROOM The Tree Board met on March 27, 2008. Kurt Markegard, of the Public Works Department had prepared a large plat of Russell Park and an overhead picture of same to help with plans for this year's Arbor Day celebration, April 25a. Gay Easton reported that he had already contacted the teachers of the South School, and they assured him that the children would be able to attend and contribute to the program. He will also contact some of the veteran' s associations, and all Board members will contact other groups where they have interests. Notices will be placed in the Laurel Outlook and the Billings Gazette. It was decided last Fall to place a lilac hedge as part oftbe boundary of the parks, and that a couple of seeclless ash be planted to replace those missing on the street and on the border. The Board then adjourned to the park to make an on the scene inspection, to note the location of water lines and boundaries. Members also inspected a problem tree in the small plots w~here E. First Street and E. Fourth Street merge. They ~d it should be removed because it was interfering with garbage removal. The Board will meet again on April 17~at 1:30 P.M. Lois Markegard Secretary
