HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. O08-03ORDINANCE NO. 008-03 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF LAUREL, MONTANA, EXTENDING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT. WHEREAS, Laurel Municipal Code § 17.12.130 provides that the central business district classification is intended to primarily accommodate stores, hotels, governmental and cultural centers and service establishments at the central focal point of the city's transportation system; and WHEREAS, the City of Laurel's growth in such establishments has extended beyond the current boundaries of the Central Business District; and WHEREAS, it is appropriate to amend the Zoning Map of the City of Laurel, Montana as provided in LMC § 17.12.210, a copy of which is attached hereto, to extend the boundaries of the C~t~ual Business District; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the residents of the City of Laurel to adopt this Ordinance to provide for uniform and orderly growth for the City in accordance with the Laurol- Yellowstone City-County Planning Board Growth Management Policy; IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED by tho City Council of the City of Laurel, Montana, that the Zoning Map of the City of Laurel, Montana is hereby emended as is set forth herein. This ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days ai~er final passage by the City Council and approved by the Mayor. Introduced and passed on first reading at a regular meeting of the City Council on February 19 ,2008, by Council Member Easton PASSED and ADOPTED by the Laurel City Council on this lSth day of March 2008, upon motion of Council Member Eaton APPROVED BY THE MAYORthis 18th dayof i~larch ,2008.
