Old Business
Since Laurel Library went live in Partners we have circulated 319 items through the end of
December. We all feel this will improve our circulation significantly. Library-staff has noticed
that many items being requested by other libraries are older items that haven't circulated in quite
a while. Our biggest difficulty is getting our own patrons to realize they no longer have to
request books through library staff but can place a hold on any book owned by our partner
libraries. There is no extra cost to the patrons for this service.
Nancy met with Jo Kramer concerning the restart of the Friends of the Library group. Jo will
contact her former librarian in Ronan about their FOL by-laws and mission statement so we
don't have to start from the very beginning.Nancy will talk with Pam Henley, MSL Consultant,
about proceeding with restarting our Friends group. Pam has worked with many libraries over
the years starting or resolving conflicts in service organizations.
New-Business
The resident mannequin was given to Blessed Beginnings. Laurie made a donation for the
mannequin, which was forwarded on to Sedley Barsness since it was her mannequin.
Other
Geralyn will be out of the library until at least March 7th. After her sick leave ends she will be
taking some vacation time off. She has 105 hours that she needs to use or she will lose them.
There will be a South Central Federation meeting in Big Timber on March 18th - 10:00 to 3:00.
As the Federation Coordinator Nancy will be attending the meeting but any, and all, Trustees are
encouraged to attend to vote on the 17/18 Plan of Service.
