Meeting called to order @ 19:00 hours by Chairman John Smith
Members present were John Smith, Randy Hand, Shane Linse
No minutes available of last meeting.
Guest present: Craig Canfield
Claims approved: Normal amounts for utilities and typical expenses. Also approved
expenditures to KU of: $2,100.00 land, 38,942.00 AWOS, and $14,595.34 for runway
design.
Reports, Craig Canfield:
1. AWOS, we will have legal IFR weather after we commission including any
GPS approaches. New AWOS will be on a separate frequency, which will
entail about $1,500 in additional cost to complete application. Approved this
additional expense.
2. New runway design is about 30% complete, plan review should be available
for next meeting. Design cost of runway will be about$243,000.00 this year.
3. Motion made and carried to have KLJ apply for an Intercap loan so that bills
are paid prior to FAA reimbursement.
4. BIA has requested consideration for a facility to house 5 to 10 people and a
couple of helicopters, primarily during fire season. They will follow with more
particulars as they develop.
5. No new information from National Guard as to their federal approval on space
for their operations has been received.
Old business:
1. FAA did approve release of parcels on airport road to non aviation use.
We will need to look at options prior to doing so.
2. Will Metz sidewalk issue not resolved yet.
